I didn’t get my sign-in email
- Wait a minute, then check your junk or spam folder and any “Other” or “Promotions” tab.
- Make sure you typed your university email correctly.
- Tap Send a new code. For security, codes can only be requested a few times per hour.
- Some university email systems hold messages from new senders. Searching your inbox for “StuConnect” can help.
It says my email isn’t an Ontario university email
StuConnect currently supports the universities listed on our home page. Use your school-issued address (for example, name@mail.utoronto.ca), not a personal email. If your school is missing, email us.
The code says it’s wrong or expired
Codes expire after a while and only the newest one works. Request a new code and enter it right away.
Your profile
How do I change my name, photo or courses?
Go to Me → Edit profile. Tap your photo on the Me tab to change it.
Can I change my @username?
No. Your username is made from your university email so classmates can trust who you are.
How do I add or remove a course?
Add one from the bottom of the Courses tab, or edit your course list in Me → Edit profile.
Courses
How do votes and best answers work?
Tap the up arrow on helpful posts and answers and the down arrow on unhelpful ones. The student who asked a question can mark one answer as the best answer, and it moves to the top.
Someone added a wrong date to the course calendar
The student who added it can remove it, and so can moderators. Post a correction on the course’s Home board or email us.
Safety
How do I report or block someone?
- A student: open their profile and tap Report or Block.
- A message: press and hold it in the chat.
- A post, answer, event or listing: tap Report on it.
Blocked students can’t message you, and you won’t see their profiles, posts or listings.
Can I unsend a message?
Yes. Press and hold your message and tap Unsend. It’s removed for everyone in the chat. Moderators can still see unsent messages, to keep everyone safe.
Why does my message say “Under review”?
Our automatic safety check flagged something in it (for example, a phone number or wording that’s often used in scams). It was still sent; a moderator may review it.
Why wasn’t my message sent?
Messages with threats, slurs or encouragement of self-harm are blocked. See our Terms of Use.
Are my chats private?
Only the people in a chat can see it. Moderators may review messages and photos that are flagged or reported, and photos for 7 days after they’re sent. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
Marketplace
How do safe meetups work?
Message the seller, then tap Plan meetup at the top of the chat. Pick one of your campus’s safe spots (public, staffed places such as the main library) and a time between 8 AM and 9 PM. The other person accepts or declines. Once it’s confirmed, tap Share with a friend to send the details to someone you trust.
Can we meet somewhere else?
For your safety, StuConnect only books meetups at campus safe spots. Never meet at a home, residence or parking lot, and never pay before you’ve seen the item.

How do I delete my account?
Go to Me → Delete account and confirm. This permanently deletes your profile, messages, photos, posts and listings. If you can’t access the app, email us from your university email and we’ll delete it for you.
I was suspended. Can I appeal?
Yes. Email info@stuconnect.net from your university email and tell us what happened.
